Eliana is a sculptural and installation artist based in Adelaide (Kaurna country), with a practice focussing on the sculptural use of glass. She employs traditional and experimental glassmaking techniques and materials to create unique glass pieces forming the basis for sculptural arrangements or installations, often combined with other materials and media.

Responding to the overload of information and things alongside growing environmental concerns in contemporary society, Eliana’s practice contemplates the relationship between humans and the material world. Her practice-based explorations delve into information embodied in materials and objects, insights they can provide into other times and places, and how they are ordered in the search for meaning. Her works invite consideration of shifting perceptions of value, complexity, agency, and anthropocentrism.

Eliana approaches glass as Materia Prima, transforming the seemingly limitless material via intuitive or planned interventions to discover what emerges, or is revealed. She is captivated by the materiality of glass, and harnesses its optical qualities, solid and fluid states, and its ability to embody invisible forces and memories of past states in the development and realisation of her work.
